1. Martial Arts training focuses on the essentials that a child will draw valuable life skills from as they mature: self-confidence, discipline, respect, courtesy, goal-setting, perseverance, physical fitness, and last but not least, leadership skills. Martial arts training is not about aggressiveness, but mastering control your inner-self. 2. We have started people in their sixties. You start with whatever abilities you have and build on those!!Back to Top
3. No, you will get in shape as you train. We start off slow and build our strength and stamina as we train.

4. Depending on the ages and abilities of family members, there are some classes available for training together. This should be discussed with the instructor.

5. Most definitely; we pride ourselves on the turn around our students have achieved with behavioral problems at home and in school.

6. Yes, each report card period is important to us. We ask students to bring in their report cards for our review. Good students receive certificates from Grandmaster Shin! We also require that parents and school teachers sign a “Notice of Intent to Promote” before each test.

7. Our instructors are certified with the World Tang Soo Do Association and supervised by the Chief Instructor and owner, Master Becky Rupp.

8. There are tests for promotion every three months. However, not everyone tests every three months. Each student promotes at their own rate. If the 24 classes are met and the required curriculum is able to be performed adequately then the student is tested for their next rank.

9. Testing is a formal occasion. The tests are held on Saturdays for adults and kids with a panel of Black Belts as the judges. Full traditional white dobohk must be worn.

We keep a full stock of uniforms at the studio. Our uniforms have the logo and patches required by our Association.

11. Yes, we do tournaments within our World Tang Soo Do Association. NO, they are not important for our advancement in rank and are never required.

No, we do not do full contact sparring. Our philosophy is to teach control; both in physical capabilities and in mental attitudes.

No, we are not like Aikido or Judo. As you progress through the ranks there will be takedowns and some falling. We teach rolling and falling for your safety.

You may drop them off after the initial sign up. However, we find that students whose parents show interest in their training do better.

Yes, we offer a free week of classes to try out our style and Instructors. That’s also our time to evaluate if you are ready for our classes.

Yes, we offer 1 hour private lessons for those who need help with their techniques and memorization. We do not teach someone solely by private lessons; you must be enrolled in regular classes as well.
