AboutThe Quilt

This beautiful quilt was designed and made by the students and parents at Dragon Heart. It is being raffled to benefit the Maggie Butterworth Training Scholarship Fund. This fund benefits the under privileged kids whose parents can't afford to pay the full price for training. It pays for half their membership at Dragon Heart. This is the 3rd quilt Kym Kemp has done for our scholarship program. We are truly appreciative of her time and efforts as well as Maria Gale's who put the pieces together before we had the amazing quilting done. Please support our scholarship by buying tickets at Dragon Heart, Pizzazz, Juice Jungle ( in the Meadows) or from our students sitting out front of businesses selling the tickets! They sell for;

Creativity Division 1st Place Winners!

This is our demo team’s winning performance at this year’s Region One Regional Championship held in Garberville on May 23rd, 2009. This team works year round under the direction of the captain, Kisa Rupp. Kisa choreographs, does the music, and designs the costumes for the team. She came up with the concept of a professional style demo team and turned it into her 6,000 word “ how to” essay for her 3rd degree black belt test.  She has been running our teams for 5 years and they have won the Regional Creativity Division for 5 years in a row.  We are sad to see Kisa move to Portland but wish her well on her life’s journey to becoming a video game designer. Her replacement as captain of the team is 3 year veteran Meredyth Phillips.
